Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Rai is the first and only dedicated hepatologist (liver disease specialist), liver transplant physician of Rajasthan. He was earlier associated with Department of Hepatology and Liver Transplant in Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon. He did his DM Hepatology from PGI, Chandigarh where he gained expertise in management of Liver diseases and Liver Transplant. He is former Professor and HOD, Medicine, NSCB (Govt.) Medical College, Jabalpur; and was earlier Registrar in Dept. of Medicine, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi. He has recently started extending his services in Jaipur and Rajasthan. Dr. Rai is known for his personal attention, sincerity and humbleness towards his patients. His motto is to provide comprehensive liver care to all for healthier India.

प्रोफेसर डॉ राहुल राय देश में यकृत (लिवर) की बीमारियों के एक प्रमुख विशेषज्ञ है; एवं राजस्थान के एकमात्र लिवर रोग के सुपरस्पैशलिस्ट हेपटोलॉजिस्ट (DM Hepatology) हैं। वायरल हेपेटाइटिस, वसायुक्त यकृत (फैटी लिवर), शराब जनित यकृत रोग (अल्कोहलिक लिवर डिजीज), सिरोसिस और लिवर फेलियर सहित यकृत रोगों के सभी पहलुओं के इलाज में उनका असीमित अनुभव है। लिवर प्रत्यारोपण से पहले और बाद में रोगियों के प्रबंधन के लिए डॉ राय देश के गिने-चुने व्यक्तियों में एक हैं। उन्होंने सफल लिवर और किडनी प्रत्यारोपण के लिए कई गंभीर मरीजों को सही रास्ता दिखाया है।
वर्तमान में डॉ राय जयपुर एवं राजस्थान के मरीजों को अपनी सेवाएं दे रहे हैं। पूर्व में वे शासकीय मेडिकल कॉलेज, जबलपुर के मेडिसिन विभाग के प्रोफेसर एवं विभागाध्यक्ष रह चुके हैं, जहाँ उनके संरक्षण में कई पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट्स ने चिकित्सा क्षेत्र में सफलतापूर्वक अपना प्रशिक्षण और शोध पूरा किया है। इसके अलावा उन्होंने मौलाना आज़ाद मेडिकल कॉलेज, नई दिल्ली; पी जी आई, चंडीगढ़ एवं मेदांता अस्पताल, गुरुग्राम में भी विभिन्न पदों पर रह कर अपनी सेवाएं दी हैं। डॉ राय नैदानिक विशेषज्ञता के अलावा न्यूनतम लागत, करुणा और सहानुभूति से रोगियों के इलाज में विश्वास रखते हैं।
डॉ राय राष्ट्रीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के सम्मेलनों में एक प्रतिष्ठित वक्ता हैं जहां उन्होंने अपने शोधपत्र प्रस्तुत किये हैं। वे यकृत रोग की जटिलताओं एवं लिवर प्रत्यारोपण के क्षेत्र में अनुसंधान में सक्रिय हैं। डॉ राय के कई शोध पत्र प्रख्यात राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शोध पत्रिकाओं में प्रकाशित हैं। उनके शोध, विशेष रूप से यकृत प्रीकोमा और कोमा को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान्यता प्राप्त है। उन्होंने पिछले 10 सालों में महाकौशल क्षेत्र में यकृत रोग की प्रवृत्ति का भी अध्ययन किया है, और पाया कि यहाँ हेपेटाइटिस बी का संक्रमण लिवर फेलियर का सबसे आम कारण है जो देश के अन्य राज्यों में पाए गए कारणों से भिन्न है। डॉ राय का अंग दान कार्यक्रम में भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान है। उनकी प्रेरणा से जबलपुर में पहली बार डोनर कार्ड बनाने का कार्य आरम्भ हुआ। डॉ राय ने कई सरकारी/गैर-सरकारी संगठनों और संस्थानों द्वारा आयोजित विभिन्न अंग दान जागरूकता कार्यक्रमों में कई वार्ताएं की हैं। उनके सतत प्रयासों और प्रभावी समन्वय से ही जबलपुर में पहला मरणोपरांत अंग दान (ब्रेन डेड ऑर्गन डोनेशन) संभव हुआ जिसकी प्रदेश एवं देश में सराहना हुई। डॉ राय को उनके शोध एवं कार्यों के लिए विभिन्न पुरस्कारों अवं अवॉर्डों से भी सम्मानित किया जा चुका है।
